How to Cook Green Beans Simmering Method

One Pan Instructions

* To cook all in one pan, use a large, wide skillet with sides and begin by boiling the water in it. Once the green beans are blanched and in the ice water, dump out the water and return the pan to the heat. The remaining water will evaporate quickly and you can begin cooking the bacon.Calories: 372kcal | Carbohydrates: 14g | Protein: 13g | Fat: 30g | SaturatedFat: 10g | Cholesterol: 50mg | Sodium: 704mg | Potassium: 524mg | Fiber: 4g |Sugar: 6g | Vitamin A: 810IU | Vitamin C: 17mg | Calcium: 55mg | Iron: 2mgCourse: Side DishCuisine: AmericanKeyword: side dish, thanksgiving, vegetablesServings: 6Calories: 372kcalAuthor: Mikayla MI’d love to hear what you think, feel free to tag me on Instagram@theflourhandprint so I can see how it went! Greek Three Bean Salad

When I went to Greece years ago, my favorite salad was the farmer’s Greeksalad, or horiatiki. There was no lettuce anywhere in sight — just thefreshest tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onion tossed with salty feta, brinykalamata olives, red wine vinegar, olive oil and oregano. This salad is a combination of horiatiki and three bean salad. I swapped theclassic vinaigrette with my Easy Greek Salad Dressing for the ultimate flavorsof the mediterranean. Can you see why I’m head over heels?

How to Cook Green Beans (Simmering Method)

Since this is more of a cooking technique than a recipe, you can adjust theamount of green beans being cooked based on the number of servings. Itypically aim for around 1 cup of green beans per person.

Greek Three Bean Salad

Greek Three Bean Salad is classic 3 bean salad with a Greek twist! It’s packedwith protein, veggies and is the perfect side dish or lunch!I’m soaking up summer already. My boys have been out of school for a weekalready and it’s been really nice having them home. They’re older now, so Idon’t have to worry about finding activities for them to do like I did whenthey were younger. We used to spend so much money on camps to keep them active, and I alwaysworked hard to coordinate time for them to spend time with friends and goplaces so that we didn’t all get stir crazy. Now that they’re in high school, they have the high school sportscamps/practices to keep them busy, and they certainly don’t need mecoordinating time to hang out with their friends anymore.I’m thankful that I have a job that allows me to work from home so I can behere with them during the summer. And I have some taste testers during the daywhich is really useful, too. 🙂I’m soaking up summer food like this Greek 3 Bean Salad too!A few years ago I posted this Fresh and Easy Three Bean Salad and it’s beenpretty popular around here. I love that salad, so it was hard to imaginemaking it better. Those fresh green beans and that maple vinaigrette….so good.As much as I love that classic version, this Greek Three Bean Salad is better. It’s three-bean-salad-transported-to-the-Mediterranean better.”
